History of Black Diamond Taekwondo

Black Diamond Taekwondo opened in 2002.  The name "Black Diamond" was given to our school to represent a program that brings out the best in people.  A black diamond is forged from a common piece of coal unknowing of what it could become, just as our students are rare and valuable gems often unknowing of what they can become.  Through martial arts training, each student can achieve personal excellence and reach their full potential.

Our Instructors

Marc and Linda McPharlin are the co-owners of Black Diamond Taekwondo.  They are both Master Instructors in the art/Olympic sport of Taekwondo with 13+ years of experience.  They share the same life mission and career goals of nurturing the confidence, self-discipline, and kindness in their students to help them reach their full potential and to build stronger individuals, stronger families, and stronger communities through martial arts training. 

What makes Black Diamond Taekwondo special?

Black Diamond Taekwondo is a mix of traditional martial arts and Olympic sport, providing students with a well-rounded martial arts education and character development training as well as opportunities for local, state, and national competition. 

In addition to a broad education in Taekwondo, Black Diamond Taekwondo provides specialized training in weapons, leadership, self-defense, competition, and demonstration-style Taekwondo and allows students to specialize in their chosen areas of interest making their training experience truly unique.

Black Diamond Taekwondo is actively involved in encouraging children to strive for the best in education, knowledge, and character development.  They create and run special programs within their martial arts school such as The Academic Challenge, The A Team, The STORM (special team of role models) team, and the Black Belt Reader program.

Black Diamond Taekwondo is an active sponsor in community events and participates in fundraising for such causes as child abuse prevention and literacy.
